About The Club

Our Roots

Our roots trace back to the late 1800s, when Italian immigrants arrived in Branford to work in the Stony Creek quarries. Through hard work, determination, and a strong sense of family, they built lives, neighborhoods, and lasting traditions that helped shape the Branford community.

As the local Italian population grew, organizations were formed to support families in times of need, celebrate cultural traditions, and strengthen community bonds. These early societies eventually led to the founding of the Branford Italian American Social Club on August 8, 1932.

BUILDING A LEGACY

The clubhouse that stands today was built through the dedication and generosity of members who believed in creating a permanent home for future generations.

Much of the work was completed by the members themselves, establishing a tradition of volunteerism and pride that continues to this day.

The Branford Italian American Social Club is dedicated to preserving Italian heritage, fostering meaningful connections, and creating opportunities for friendship, service, and cultural celebration for current and future generations. Through community involvement, social activities, and charitable efforts, we strive to honor the traditions of those who came before us while creating a welcoming environment for generations to come.

Most importantly, the Club remains a gathering place for friends and families. From bocce leagues and social events to casual conversations and lifelong friendships, the Club serves as a second home for many of our members. Today, we proudly welcome new generations while honoring those who came before us. Their spirit of hard work, generosity, and community continues to guide everything we do.
